A large vug of azurite crystals from the famous Tsumeb Mine! There are crystals here up to 3 cm in length, and up to 2 cm wide, most with incredible luster and rich azure color. Some of the crystals have begun to pseudomorph to malachite, creating the pretty green highlights. All of the crystals except the ones at the periphery are terminated! Some of the crystals have grown as parallel stacks, making for increased reflections off all those angles. This piece is actually composed of two in situ pockets side-by-side, separated by a thin ridge. Classic, large, and beautiful. Ex. Francis Allegra. collection
