The famous mines at Dal'negorsk have produced world-class calcite specimens and this is an excellent example. This very sharp, glassy, translucent, light pink manganoan calcite poker-chip crystal is a complete floater. The only point of attachment is on the rosette of quartz crystals. Ex. Gene Meieran Collection. The accompanying label dates the piece to the very early 1990s, when Dal'negorsk material was just starting to reach the market. Superb orange fluorescence.
