This Braldu Valley Spessartine is exceptional for its 4.2 cm size and the complex stepped growth on every face. ALL AROUND, 360 degrees, it is complete! These stepped growth patterns remind me of Mayan temples, and for sheer complexity you think of the flat but equally patterned Garnets from Navegadora in Brazil. The luster on this "floater" complete crystal is excellent, as is the deep, wine-red color. For this particular habit, I have rarely seen its equal from Pakistan and it would stand out from anywhere. VERY 3-dimensional in person, but difficult to capture in a photo, this is a special specimen that is much more impressive on a shelf for subtle symmetries and geometries here, than it would appear from only the flat photo. A special piece, from the Obodda collection.
