This is a really interesting natural Sapphire crystal that has been split perpendicular to its length at the source in Burma to reveal its amazing interior. The exterior is is a nondescript, mottled, light gray and dark gray-blue, while the interior reveals a six-rayed, trapiche-style design of rich, dark blue, radiating Sapphire "fans" with pale gray-blue Sapphire between them for splendid effect! Normally this pattern is present in emeralds and a rare beryl, even more rare in a corundum. This design is present on both portions of the "nodule". One piece measures 2.1 x 1.6 x 1.1 cm and the other 2.1 x 1.6 x 1.6 cm. Unique! Mark Mauthner photo.
