A very rare and unusual creature, this is a large phosphate crystal from San Diego County. Few large phosphates ever turn up in these gem pegmatites. This one features a large crystal of triphyllite, replaced by purpurite. An old specimen, from the Chris Korpi collection So far as I know, this large piece is unique except for a few small and insignificant examples
