The most beautiful and desirable European green pyromorphite specimens have come out of Les Farges long ago, and this superb small cabinet piece is no exception. The specimen has considerable aesthetics and is composed of numerous, intense green sprays of highly lustrous crystals to 0.6 mm, some of which are just slightly hoppered. The deep green pyromorphites are set on an ocherous "limonite" matrix for great contrast. It is essentially pristine excepting a few very local and very trivial broken crystals around the periphery and a few in the central portion of the piece which do not detract from this gorgeous piece. Extremely rare on the market! Ex. Paul Zerfass collection with label. Probably of 1980s vintage.
