Atacamite
A classic oldtimer specimen, really rich overall and comprised of a pinwheel of larger crystals to 1.5 cm perched atop a cluster of smaller and massive atacamites. Excellent example of both species and locality, from one of the best old locales. The Moonta mines are a long-abandoned group of copper mines, worked from ~1860-1923 (per MINDAT). Specimens like this, of any size over thumbnail, only come out of museums and old collections these days. In fact, this is from the Harvard University Museum collection. Joe Budd photos
