Here we have a rare pink Boracite specimen from a recent find about a month ago (~2009) in Bolivia. While these specimens are not a new find per se, they are new specimens from a well known locality. Most people are familiar with the "blue" Danburites from this locality, but the other staple species found here is Boracite, which is also typically blue in color. This piece features a few relatively well formed, sharp, rare orange-pink color modified cubes up to 1.0 cm of this hard to find species on matrix. There are also a few pale yellow and white Boracite crystals on the specimen as well, but nothing as impressive or rare as the pink crystals. Most often the Boracites from this locality are some shade of blue, and to find pink is rather rare in my experience. There were only a handful of crystals from the entire find that were on matrix.
