Obviously, this specimen is from one of the alpine clefts in the Tyrol, but of such size and gemminess it is really unprecedented. This crystal is lustrous, razor sharp, and complete save for the bottom. It has some attahed matrix in the back. It is a rather large, transparent to translucent, fluorapatite from ANY locality but particularly for European material from the Alps. It has a pleasing slightly smoky or lavender color in person. Collected by a strahler some few years ago.
