Lazurite is the true name for lapis lazuli (there is also a completely different mineral called lazulite, which is not related to lapis lazuli, but often confuses people for obvious reasons). Lazurite is found in good quantity in its massive form, but rarely in good crystals, which is why it is sought-after by collectors in specimens such as this, with isolated crystals in contrasting, stark white marble. There are two 1.2-cm, intergrown crystals here, side by side.
