Ajoite is a very rare copper-containing silicate. Pretty, powder-blue ajoite includes many of the quartz crystals on this striking, very sculptural large cabinet specimen that is studded with porcupine-like quartz needles. This fine piece is from a recent, sudden find from the Messina Mine of South Africa after many years of drought, source of the very best ajoite-included quartz crystals.
