The remote Huanggang Mines have produced some of the most amazing gem-quality sphalerite in the world, because the color is such a beautiful and strong yellow. It is not just yellow like some others are from most other places (meaning, a bit of yellow, orange, or green or brown in the mix...), it is REALLY yellow. This is from the great finds of 2010-2012 or so, and is among the most lemon yellow crystals in this size. It is a sharp twin, with dramatic shape. The luster is ridiculously glassy and bright, and it is complete all around. Put a light behind it, and it glows like a lemon colored ice cube. This quality is few and far between today, and many were cut into gems already.
