A sprig of limestone studded with tiny calcite crystals is the matrix for a single, equant, translucent, very dark purple cube 2.7 cm on a side. There are stepped faces at one corner and at that point there is a tiny, unimportant bruise. Some people do not like these when so dark that they are more black than purple, which is frankly why so few have survived. I personally do not like them, if expensive, but at the price this is a really nice locality specimen and a nice part of a suite containing gemmy crystals as foils.
