This fluorite specimen has a significant presence due to its substantial size and amazing, saturated green-blue color! It is a large, softball-sized, transparent to translucent, single crystal of fluorite showcasing two forms of fluorite: cubic and octahedral. The cube faces are prominent because they are flat, uncomplicated and lustrous. The octahedral faces provide a textural contrast since they are actually a product of at least octahedral and cube faces (possibly dodecahedral) competing for prominence resulting in an apparent "rough" texture. Looking face-on, the fluorite exhibits a saturated sea green color with a small, teal-blue phantom at the core! Upon close inspection, the periphery of the crystal displays a faint, teal blue color as well. Contacted on the back and bottom. An exceptional fluorite by any standard that displays prominently. I have been in this mine multiple times and can tell you, it is not easy collecting! Pockets are tight and 2 kilometers in. Crystals like this are few and far between. Color like this, is even more rare. Most crystals are much more pale, and the hint of blue is uncommon. From 2017 finds, not seen since.
