An AESTHETIC plate of lustrous, rose-red, bladed rosettes of rhodochrosite richly covering massive, botryoidal manganite matrix from the famous Nchwaning I Mine of South Africa, NOT form the Nchwaning II mine. The piece is shaped like South America. This is older material, probably from the 1960s to mid-1970s, and quite different from what most people associate with the area for rhodos today (from 1979-1982 finds). The bit of periphery damage is certainly not detracting. It is abeautiful, and fine locality piece 9.7 x 6.4 x 2.5 cm
