Childrenite, a rare hydrated phosphate mineral, usually occurs only in small crystals. This specimen is outstanding in terms of the size of the crystals, and their richness in number. One crystal measures 4.5 cm in length. There is no matrix here; this is all childrenite, with the crystals naturally cemented together.
