Here is an impressive, glassy, polychrome Tourmaline crystal from the famous gem pegmatites of Paprok, Afghanistan, but with an unusually fine termination. This stout, striated crystal with other slender Elbaite Tourmaline crystals in parallel growth starts with a translucent, magenta-purple for the bottom two-thirds of the crystal and transitions to a discontinuous, turbid, pale pink pastel pink zone, with the top third a gemmy, rich green with a bright teal green termination. It has great luster and a flaring termination and somewhat divergent sidecar crystals that give it a larger presence on a shelf than the size might otherwise indicate. Three very very minor restorations to small chips in the tip are invisible. 205 grams.
