The prehnites from New Jersey have of late been a bit overshadowed by the recent finds in Mali, but they remain American classics. This is a cluster of stalactitic prehnite "fingers," with the characteristic cross-hatched pattern on their surfaces, to 3.5 cm. Some of the "fingers" are missing at the edges of the specimen - they often contact the pocket wall in this style of specimen so it is common that some of them are not complete when they are extracted -- but the center of the specimen is pristine.
