When you think of good tourmalines, you do NOT typically think of China. But look at this specimen from a brand new find near the border of Burma! It is a gemmy, bright pink, inch-long crystal on matrix, with a termination like GLASS giving a view into the transparent interior. Let us hope more of these are on the way - but you just never know! One of a very FEW undamaged specimens from a lot which showed up at the Denver show in September, I did not see more at Munich either...so odds are this was a one-shot deal.
