This is a polished slice through a large Illinois fluorite showing the incredible zoning lines that formed as the crystal changed colors in accordance with the changing solution in the pocket. The natural stepped growth along the edge adds extra pizzazz. You can even see some tiny pyrite crystals inside the fluorite! These show some of the most remarkable zoning in the fluorite world, and it is shown off best in these cross sections. 8.7 x 5.9 x 1 cm
