Iconic would be a good way to classify the best Amethysts from Las Vigas, a group to which this specimen certainly belongs. This cabinet specimen is exquisite, with glassy, gemmy, and highly lustrous crystals spread out across the matrix. The rich color is exceptionally uniform for this famous locality, and the purple Amethysts are complemented nicely by the dusting of green Epidote on the matrix. Looking like jewels, the Amethysts reach up to 4 cm in size, and being primarily vertical allows maximum appreciation of their beauty.
