This specimen, out of the collection of Marty Zinn, gets more fascinating when you look at it closely. Inside this pretty amethyst geode is a single, isolated crystal of calcite. If you look at its surface, you can see that a perfect little sphere of fluorite, one of the botryoidal "egg" fluorites that are well-known from Mahodari, has formed right on the calcite!
