Ilvaite from the late 1980s/early 1990s finds at Dalnegorsk still sets the standard for specimens of this species, at least in this size range. This is a unique cluster. It is made up of lustrous and lightly striated doubly-terminated crystals. Complete, 360 degrees all around - a floater! Old material, seldom seen today. Purchased in Tucson 1995 by Jim and Dawn Minette, and then sold to Ralph Clark when the Minette collection was broken up. Later, to Jim Houran - a great provenance of respected Thumbnail gurus! I cannot imagine a better thumbnail example of the species.
