Quite attractive and unusual in its color palette combination, this choice, two-generational Rhodochrosite specimen is from the Silverton area of Colorado. The first generation of Rhodochrosite is light pink and finely crystalline, whereas the second generation is composed of highly lustrous, flattened rhombs that average about 4 mm in size. Their color is a deeper pink, indicative of a higher temperature of formation. The aesthetic of darker on lighter pink is really attractive. A quality Rhodo specimen from a classic American locality. This is a gorgeous, 3-dimensional piece of unusual aesthetics.
