Limonite stained quartz is the matrix for this unusual cluster of lustrous and translucent, light apple-green fluorite crystals. They reach to 1.5 cm across in size. Unusually for this district where twinning is so common, none of the fluorite crystals are twinned. We like the fact that most of these crystals are discrete and not intergrown, also unusual for this region's deposits. Under the blacklight, these crystals glow a super purple color. Mined in the mid 1970's., such specimens are rarely seen on the market today. Illustrated in the Greenbank Collection book, page 96. Joe Budd photo, lower row
