A BIG Okarusu specimen with large, fine crystals showing the characteristic deep purple and green tones. The crystals are up to 3.3 cm across which makes this one of the better specimens we have offered of the material. Frankly it was held out for a gallery update but we ran out of good larger rocks for this auction so, here it is. The crystal SIZE makes all the difference in value on these. Little crystals are common enough, though it isn't easy to get pristine specimens and the ones we HAVE offered have been cherry-picked from many more. Still, crystals above 2 cm are very rare even amongst the rubbish. This piece also has interesting corner modifications, and virtually no damage to the main display area! It needs to be mentioned there is peripheral damage all along the BOTTOM of the display face, though not on the faces of the major crystals themselves - just beneath them in a horizon. There is admittedly some damage on the backside as well. Still, it displays like a killer and as I said, the SIZE of the crystals makes this stand out greatly amidst all the others. 17.5 x 8.0 x 6.0 cm
