This cluster of Minerva Fluorites has gemminess, glassy luster, and good color zoning. The color of these crystals goes from a light purple core to a sharp deep purple phantom to light blue. In person it is much mor egemmy! The edges are sharp, with just one corner having been cleaved on the bottom, and the rest complete. They are so gemmy though, that the camera focus goes through the crystals to the matrix! The Fluorites, the largest of which is 2.2 cm, rest on a brown matrix plate that is readily visible through the water-clear crystals. This gemmy cluster was mined in 1993. RCL 1155
