A thing of beauty, this Illinois fluorite exhibits stepped growth with gemmy overgrowths and razor sharp phantoms! It is very lustrous and nearly transparent, with a rich purple color on the edges and a core of amber. In addition there is color zoning at the crystal edges. Very elegant and colorful! It is simply better in person, as the combination of the color zones is hard to image with camera the way the human eye separates them. Sharp and nearly pristine, the piece is complete on all edges and contacted on the bottom only.
