An incredible anatase for Brazil or any worldwide locale! This huge, silvery gray-blue, ditetragonal pyramid of anatase from Diamantina, Brazil is 1.9cm wide and a full 3.9cm long...unheard of in this size and quality from this occurrence. Diamantina is generally noted for its beautiful specimens of rutile, another titanium dioxide polymorph. The crystal is very lustrous save local dull patches that can be seen on the photos, and some evident edge wear and a few nicks. Given the rarity of such a thing, I can accept those minor detractions. Ex. Lawrence Conklin collection with label. He told me that he got it decades ago from the AMNH museum. I have never seen such a beast of a crystal from Brazil.
