Wonderful architecture along with beautiful clarity and luster highlight this light lemon-yellow spodumene crystal. The growth striations add to the beauty of the crystal. Ex. Herb Obodda collection, from his famous display suite of miniatures and thumbnails seen at many exhibitions until he sold the collection. The color on this is more yellow than nearly any other I can recall seeing, without the usual green tones. It looks more like the color of a fine Tanzanian scapolite, than anything else you think of for spodumene. Herb personally obtained this in his travels in the early 2000s. A floater! 68 grams. Illustrated in the Mineralogical Record, Volume 48 (Sept-Oct 2017, pg 664).
