Two generations of rhodochrosite are featured on this aesthetic and showy specimen from the famous American Tunnel of Colorado. Glassy, cherry-red rhodochrosite rhombs, which are revealed on the cleaved base, are coated with a pleasing second generation of lustrous, pastel-pink rhodochrosite. The large, sharp central rhomb is 1.7 cm on edge. Ex. John Ydren collection.
