A significant and display-worthy uraninite thumbnail featuring sharp crystals of this uranium species from a highly unusual locality. Obtained before Charlie Key obtained and sold the larger, more famous crystals from Maine, this was a prize piece in the collection. If we see it on a shelf today, we'd think it was mislabelled and indeed was from Maine. But, according to Bill: "After careful thought on this specimen, It came from Charlie through John McDonald but it's from the Cardiff Mine in Haliburton Co., Ontario, Canada! This was before Charlie and the uraninite from Maine. I am now happy about this!!!!" From the award-winning thumbnail collection of Sharon and William Panczner, author of the book Minerals Of Mexico, and last seen and exhibited in the 1960s.
