This is a very large and just fascinating pseudomorph specimen from a find in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. What you have is this huge blocky crystal of fluorite, 7.5 cm across the edge that has been pseudomorphed by sparkly quartz. The big cube has these interesting raised ridges on it - reason unknown - and beside it are other strange forms, including a lip-like projection that was also certainly a pseudomorph but after what, it is unclear (though probably a calcite). Hematite inclusions give the quartz its coloration. Not only is this specimen interesting and unusual, but it has beautiful architectural form due to the preservation of the pseudomorphed original crystals of fluorite.
