On a sliver of quartz biotite matrix are two equant, glassy and gemmy, orangy-red crystals of zircon. The largest crystal measures 1.5 cm in length. This is the single largest crystal of this lot. The back side of this crystal is partially contacted, however, this is not apparent from the preferred viewing angles from which it certainly looks complete and pristine. A superb zircon from any locality, with wine-red color and glassy luster.
