The photos pretty much speak for themselves here. This is not simply an amazing selenite specimen, but it is an amazing specimen, period. The dominant, pseudo-triangular crystal is 3.5 cm tall. It is pristine and has no repairs. It is on a sparkly, subtly shaded matrix of calcite. I find this piece mesmerizing in its clarity and sharp form. It is an old specimen, which I obtained from a local collection some time ago. To my eye, it stands so far above most such specimens; it is just another thing entirely. Joe Budd photos.
