Tourmaline from Paprok Afghanistan - image 1

Tourmaline from Paprok Afghanistan

Unknown Owner
This is a notable, large, stout, old-time Tourmaline from the famous locality known as Paprok Mine. It has an unusual tiered, “triangular” prism termination that was seen often in these old crystals. The main termination has a definite raspberry overtone that grades quickly into a rich pink that dominates most of the crystal and a perfect DT side crystal grown perfectly without any damage. The whole piece is totally floater without any ding or repair. This Elbaite is in superb condition and has very good luster. The crystal is doubly-terminated, weighing 72 grams. It is truly impressive, Elbaite for the location. The color and luster are excellent. For the size, it can’t get much better in such quality, and perfection.
