Shattuckite, Dioptase
A very interesting, compartmentalized specimen from recent finds in Namibia. A thin, box-work crust of powder-blue shattuckite is lined with botryoidal, powder-blue shattuckite and beautifully contrasting, gemmy, emerald-green dioptase crystals. An isolated, 7 mm dioptase crystal is perched on the backside of the specimen. Shattuckite is a rare copper silicate first identified at the Shattuckite Mine, Bisbee, Arizona. This aesthetic combination specimen is from the Kaokoveld Mine, better known for dioptase.
