A superb crystal showing crystallization 360-degrees around, and dramatically displayed from a small pedestal of matrix behind it. The edges are all free and exposed, all around! This large alkali-rich beryl crystal, measuring 2.6 cm across, clearly exhibits its hexagonal symmetry and the unusual look of these alkali-rich beryls (bowed-in center and interesting edges). It is also beautiful: lustrous and translucent, and with a superb, rich blue color. These were originally thought to be Rosterite or Vorobyevite, but further analysis by Dr. Federico Pezzotta confirmed they are alkali-rich beryls.
