Iridescent, magenta and peacock-blue covellite covers this essentially solid large cabinet specimen of covellite from the Leonard Mine at Butte. Stringers of bright, brassy pyrite microcrystals are a very nice accent. The label with the piece indicates that it was collected in 1942. Very rich copper ore for the war effort. Highly representative, large and very rich covellite from this well-known locale. Weighs 2.9 pounds or just over 1.3 kilograms. Ex.Tarnowski Collection.
