For both size and quality, this is one of the very best examples of the recently found Corundum specimens from Madagascar. I exchanged it directly from Dr. Federico Pezzotta who collected it while doing research there. It features a superb, 1.5 cm, very sharp, lustrous, prismatic, hexagonal ruby crystal with gorgeous and classic pigeon's blood-red color perched on a wedge of schist matrix.
