A very unusual specimen of Vera Cruz amethyst, in that instead of being a flat plate the matrix is rounded and 3 dimensional, and the crystals lie flat across it - many showing both terminations. The fact that the matrix is behind the crystals really shows off the superb deep purple color at their tips and spectacular transparency and gemminess.
