Large dark pink crystal with small amounts of lepidolite on the termination. The crystal has a nice glassy luster and a very unusual bend/break, re-heal near the bottom that makes it "curvy" and interesting! The crystal bends dramatically from the re-heal. The interior has large transparent and translucent zones and really is quite gemmy when backlit. It has been hard to find large crystals from this mine around anymore. Ex. John Barlow (#1796) and Kevin Brown collections. I bought this piece from the Barlow collection when it sold in 1998, and it went right to Kevin at that time. Weight 5 ounces....so this is a HEFTY crystal of good size! Stewart mine classic pink rubellites of this desirable color are hard to get today. In the old days, they wer ecut for carving rough! Today, there just are not many around to own.
