Water-clear, gemmy, quartz crystals to 1.5 cm are richly scattered on the pastel-pink rhodochrosite on this beautiful combination specimen from Taxco, Mexico. Many of the flat-lying quartz crystals are so clear, that it is very hard to see them. The aesthetics of the sculptural mound of rhodochrosite and protruding quartz points on contrasting matrix are striking.
