Fluorite from this locality is very old, and very hard to obtain (probably dating to the early to mid 1900s). This is a fairly intense pink fluorite, of good size, from this locale which is impossible to find on the specimen market today. It showcases a translucent 3.5-cm octahedral crystal with some stepped faces, impaled on other (partial) crystals. The whole piece is transparent, gemmy, and pretty clean when backlit. It came to the States via Burton Jirgl, a Los Angeles dealer who had served in the army in Japan in the 1950s and brought back many specimens. He sold it to John Ydren.
