Norway is well-known for its Zircons (the type localities are there), and this classic specimen from Alta, Norway upholds the tradition of quality. This sharp, single crystal is a near perfect tetragonal crystal with doubly terminated pyramidal ends. It is a deep, golden-red color and translucent with excellent adamantine luster, and textbook form. It's a stout crystal measuring 3 cm in length and 2 cm across. The crystal is nearly complete with some contacting on the back where it grew against other crystals. These Norwegian Zircons are very uncommon on the market - especially in this quality! It exhibits very good yellow-orange fluorescence.
