An older Pederneira piece from the mid-2000s around 2005-2007, this is a dramatic presentation piece with two slender, gem blue crystals showing at an angle where they really shine and show the color, with minimal backlighting. The quartz is complete and large for such a preserved cluster. The larger tourmaline atop is 10 cm long, terminated on the right end if not the left, and has one clean repair. The smaller crystal, 6 cm long, is doubly-terminated (repaired twice, it looks like). As with all large specimens from these fractured pockets, they were put back together when found, and I accept the repairs quite readily when well done. This is an unusually pretty specimen for the style as I found most of the slender blues with matrix to be clunky, and this is rather more elegant. Photo by Joe Budd. Comes with a custom lucite base. ex. Ziegler collection.
