The form of this Brandberg quartz out of the Charlie Key collection is so unusual - it is just SUCH a unique quartz specimen. What you have here looks as if an amethyst crystal swallowed a smoky Herkimer! The middle, smoky section shows skeletal growth; the purple ends have the usual bright clarity and pretty purple blush these are famous for. It is more striking in person - hard to capture in pics, but truly bizarre.
