Galena after Pyromorphite pseudomorphs from the Kautenbach Mine are unique, and these old German classics have always been highly sought-after. The pseudos reach up to 1 cm across, and are very sharp. The tabular forms of the crystals are stacked and offset, almost en echelon, and have very good definition and size. The largest cluster of metallic, sparkly Pyrite is about 1.6 cm across, and it adds a nice contrast to the metallic, grey Galenas. I had not seen this association before! The piece is aesthetic and displays nicely in almost any direction. These are all old specimens, quite literally, dating to the 1860s and before. Fantastic 1866 label included.
