SUPERLATIVE Cerussite with blades of exceptional size and beauty. The main blades form the beginnings of a pair of sixlings, and there is one diagonal blade that is essentially the start of a classic snowflake Cerussite. The main blade is an enormous 4.5 x 3 cm, and it is gemmy and transparent. There are delicate phantoms in it very similar to the well-known Cerussite pictured on P. 64 of the MR Tsumeb issue. It is a fantastic crystal on its own merits, and combines beautifully with the rest of the specimen. The diagonal blade is a substantial 5.5 x 1.6 x .8 cm. Two of the blades have contact points (one on each side of the piece as I would display it), hence were cleaved during the mining process. Unavoidable, and almost invisible in any case at the optimal angle. This is overall a dramatic piece, and a superb specimen of what is really a much more rare style (both because of natural rarity and survival issues after mining) than the common thick reticulated styles.
