Analcime is one of those beautiful minerals where the geometry and shape of the crystals simply draws the eye to engage and look at the perfect natural crystallography here. This perfect specimen hosts a dramatic crystal of 4 x 4 x 3 cm, atop a natural pedestal of smaller crystals. Analcime of world class quality came out only in a few pockets between 2003 and today from the huge and famous silicon mine in Daye/Huangshi, located in China's Hubei province. This is from the earliest major pocket of perhaps 3 significant finds in 20 years, and was the piece long in my personal collection of China minerals. I would have purchased it in China sometime around 2007-8 when they stunned the world as being among world's best of species, and certainly the best we had seen from China.
